Another customer won for the implementation of the software-based access platform Calix

With GGA Maur, another innovative Swiss communications company and long-time Broadband Networks customer relies on the software-based access platform from Calix.

Given the long-term advantages of fiber over DOCSIS technology and the promising development of PON, GGA Maur has decided to use XGS PON technology for new building and construction projects in its catchment area. In addition, the provider plans to migrate its existing DOCSIS network to fiber in the long term.

The trend towards agile, automated and cost-efficient service platforms

Broadband Networks not only convinced GGA Maur to use PON technology, but also demonstrated the added value of software-based access platforms over proprietary and predominantly hardware-based networks.

In addition, software-based access platforms enable automated provisioning, which helps to increase service agility. By simplifying the network architecture and efficient execution of network functions, operating costs can also be reduced sustainably.

Software-based access platforms, such as those from Calix, offer their customers the possibility to better evaluate customer data. This supports network providers in the development and launch of relevant marketing, sales and support activities, which can contribute significantly to a positive customer experience and thus to long-term customer loyalty. GGA Maur can also virtually map their network or components of it and thus efficiently develop and test new services with the Calix Sandbox Tool.

"We want to offer our customers the best services of the highest quality, regardless of technology, and be present on the market as quickly as possible when it comes to innovations and improvements. Innovative concepts and providers such as Calix and their solutions help us achieve this goal," says Andreas Lindner, Managing Director of GGA Maur.

GGA Maur, a regional communications company organized as a cooperative, provides 28,000 private and business customers with an extensive range of Internet, television, telephony and mobile services in the communities around Lake Greifensee as well as in Küsnacht, Lindau, Meilen, Herrliberg, St. Gallen, Gossau SG, Winterthur and Zurich.
