More than just WiFi: The Plume WorkPass guest portal

A fast, reliable WiFi connection is important. But imagine if you could offer your business customers a perfect platform that ensures security and provides a personalized guest portal with which marketing insights can be gained!

We would like to give you a deeper insight into this guest portal of Plume® WorkPassTM.

This option will be particularly interesting for customer-oriented businesses such as cafés, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, beauty salons, medical practices and stores.

With WorkPass, companies can set up a separate customer network with a customizable login portal. The following content can be configured:

  • Name of the customer network
  • Logo or image
  • Company name / individual welcome text
  • Text and background color
  • Login options (free WiFi, e-mail, password, Facebook)
  • Footer
  • Terms and conditions, which must be accepted during registration
  • Redirect URL incl. duration (where the user will be redirected to after login)
  • Limitation of bandwidth (%) for the customer network

The guests who connect to the WiFi can only access the Internet. In this way, the company's devices are always secure.

Which insights can companies gain?

The WorkPass administrators of your business customers will be able to see who is currently «online» on the WiFi network at any time.

In addition, Plume will be switching on some useful functions for evaluating user behavior in the coming months. This way, customer insights can be used as a basis for strategic decisions and for targeted advertising campaigns:

  • Distinction between new and returning guests / frequency of visits
  • Data usage and duration
  • Insight into which apps are being used

In addition, motion data will soon allow a heat map to be displayed showing customer and/or staff density and dwell time. This will help optimize the location and better predict business demand.

How can you as a service provider support your business customers?

WorkPass is managed through the same back-end tool as HomePass. This means your employees are already well familiar with the support options and can thus provide quick assistance.

The «WorkPass by Plume®» app will be available in German and French in April 2022, and is already usable in English.
